The Andaman coast stretches 894 km. along the west coast of southern Thailand starting from Ranong province to Satun province. The rich coast consisting of fruitful resources, beautiful beaches, and wonderful underwater world is the hideaway destination of visitors from over the world. The Andaman Sea in boundary of Thailand is divided physically into 2 parts; along the coast of Ranong province and Phangnga province is considered the North Andaman while the South Andaman is from Krabi, Trang, to Satun province
Tarutao Islands, Satun
Once, it was a prison where prisoners in serious cases were kept and later became the pirate island because of those prisoners and jailers. Nowadays, this is the centre of gorgeous nature both on the island and under the sea. UNESCO announced that Tarutao is an ASEAN Heritage Parks and Reserves because of its fertile forest, which is a residence of many wild animals , especially various kinds of bird, and lots of colorful coral reefs . Tarutao consists of 51 islands in the Andaman Sea and the Strait of Malacca in In dian Ocean. From these, there are 7 big islands: Tarutao, Adang, Rawi, Lipe, Klang, Batuang, and Bissi. All of these are famous for the dazzling clear emerald sea which is best for diving and snorkeling.
